Alexander Goldenweiser studied composition under Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov, graduating from the Moscow Conservatory in 1897 in Ippolitov-Ivanov’s composition class.
Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov taught harmony, orchestration, and composition at the Moscow Conservatory, and Alexander Goldenweiser was among his students there.
