The relationship between Marxsen and Bocklet is described as a formal student–teacher connection, with Bocklet listed among Marxsen’s significant instructors alongside Ignaz von Seyfried and Simon Sechter. This period of study contributed to Marxsen’s development as a pianist and later as a notable pedagogue.
