Emanuele d'Astorga received part of his early musical education in Palermo under Francesco Scarlatti, who was already an established musician and teacher there. This period of instruction is described as the beginning of Astorga's formal musical training.
Later, Astorga continued developing his talent in Naples, where he studied under both Francesco and Alessandro Scarlatti. Under their guidance, his abilities attracted wide attention, and contemporary accounts noted that he became a true disciple of the Scarlatti tradition.
