Felicita von Vestvali → Saverio Mercadante

In the winter of 1855–1856, Felicita von Vestvali studied under the Italian composer Saverio Mercadante in Naples. During this period of vocal training with him, she adopted the stage name Felicita Vestvali and soon after performed at La Scala in her first travesti role as Romeo, marking an important stage in her artistic development.
