Felix Mendelssohn, serving as the Kapellmeister of the Leipzig Gewandhaus, organized public performances for Carl Reinecke during Reinecke’s period of study at the Leipzig Conservatory from 1843 to 1846.
Carl Reinecke was deeply impressed by the works of Felix Mendelssohn, and Mendelssohn’s music exerted a significant influence on Reinecke’s own compositions.
