Francesco Bajardi studied composition under Pietro Platania at the Palermo Conservatory between 1879 and 1884, during his formative musical education. Platania, who was a prominent Italian composer and educator and served as director of the conservatory for many years, was one of Bajardi's earliest composition teachers and played a significant role in shaping his early training.
The Italian sources likewise confirm that Bajardi began his composition studies in Palermo under Pietro Platania before continuing them in Rome, establishing a direct teacher–student relationship between the two musicians.
