Fritz Masbach began his musical training under the guidance of the organist Friedrich Lux in Mainz, studying with him in his early years before debuting as an organist at age fifteen. Lux served as Masbach’s first teacher, providing his initial foundation in music.
The connection is confirmed in Friedrich Lux’s biography as well, which notes that among his students was the pianist and pedagogue Fritz Masbach, further establishing their teacher–student relationship in Mainz during Masbach’s formative period.
