At the Conservatory of Sant'Onofrio in Porta Capuana, Giacomo Insanguine studied under Francesco Durante, receiving cello instruction from him between 1749 and 1755.
This period formed part of Insanguine's continued musical education after the closure of the Conservatorio dei Poveri di Gesù Cristo, marking a significant phase of his training under one of the leading representatives of the Neapolitan School.
