Karl Ferdinand Becker studied under Johann Christian Friedrich Schneider while attending the St. Thomas School in Leipzig, where Schneider was an organist and teacher beginning in 1812. Becker’s musical education under Schneider took place during his formative years prior to 1820, receiving instruction in organ and related musical disciplines from the prominent composer and pedagogue.
