Maria Grinberg studied under Vladimir Belov at the Moscow Conservatory. Following the death of Professor Felix Blumenfeld in January 1931, Belov, who served as Blumenfeld's assistant, took charge of the class and guided the students, including Grinberg, through to their examinations. Grinberg continued her lessons with Belov during this period. Additionally, recordings by both musicians were featured on the 1990 Melodiya record titled "Blumenfeld's Students".
