Nahan Franko, an American violinist born in New Orleans in 1861, studied violin in Europe during his formative years. During this period of advanced training, he became a student of the renowned Austrian-Hungarian violinist and composer Joseph Joachim, one of the leading violin pedagogues of the nineteenth century.
