In Dresden, Regina Mingotti undertook further vocal studies under the distinguished Italian composer and pedagogue Nicola Porpora. After hearing her singing, Porpora recognized her promise and began training her, receiving a monthly fee from the Dresden court for this instruction. His teaching refined her vocal technique and contributed significantly to her rapid rise at the Dresden opera, where she soon achieved notable success despite the jealousy of the reigning prima donna Faustina Bordoni.
