Romuald Zientarski studied music in Warsaw at the Warsaw Musical Institute under the guidance of Józef Elsner. Elsner taught him harmony and counterpoint during Zientarski’s formative period of musical education, likely in the late 1840s, before Elsner’s death in 1854. This teacher‑student relationship placed Zientarski within Elsner’s significant pedagogical lineage, which also included other prominent Polish composers.
