Stanisław Barcewicz studied under Ferdinand Laub while completing his education at the Moscow Conservatory, which he graduated from in 1876. Laub, already a renowned Czech and Russian violinist and pedagogue, served as one of Barcewicz’s primary violin teachers during this formative period.
The teacher‑student relationship placed Barcewicz under the guidance of one of the most technically skilled and expressive violinists of his era, giving him direct exposure to Laub’s artistic approach and performance style. This mentorship helped shape Barcewicz’s development as both a performer and future educator, contributing to the distinguished career he later achieved in Europe.
