Vincenzo Legrenzio Ciampi studied under Francesco Durante in Naples, where he was a student at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella (also known as the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini). Durante, a leading figure of the Neapolitan School and a renowned teacher of sacred music and counterpoint, provided Ciampi with part of the rigorous musical training that shaped his early development as a composer.
