Yuri Egorov studied under Irina Dubinina at the secondary special music school at the Kazan Conservatory. Dubinina patronized Egorov's talent and personally took him to Moscow, where he was accepted into the conservatory without exams. Egorov later stood out from all of Dubinina's students as a world-class pianist.
