Zygmunt Noskowski studied under Stanisław Moniuszko during his formative years as a composer. After attracting early attention with his first compositional attempts, Noskowski became a pupil of Moniuszko, who was already a leading figure in Polish musical life. Their relationship deepened when Noskowski formally studied composition under Moniuszko at the Warsaw Music Institute between 1864 and 1867.
This teacher‑student connection played an important role in shaping Noskowski’s musical development. Under Moniuszko’s guidance, he refined his skills in composition while also continuing his violin studies with other instructors. Moniuszko’s influence contributed to Noskowski’s emergence as a prominent composer, conductor, and pedagogue in Polish music.
