Natalia Alexandrovna Melnikova is a Soviet and Ukrainian pianist and pedagogue. She was born on November 23, 1946, in Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan. In 1965, she graduated from the Kazan Special Music School, where she studied under B. Pechersky. She continued her education at the Kazan Conservatory, graduating in 1970 from the class of Professor A. Lehman, and completed her postgraduate studies there in 1972 under Professor N. Fomina.

From 1972 to 2004, Melnikova taught at the Kharkiv Institute of Arts, where she became a professor in 1997 and headed the special piano department. Since 2009, she has held the position of professor at the Department of Performing Arts at the Dnipropetrovsk Academy of Music.

Melnikova has maintained an active career as a concert pianist, including performances in a duo with Alexei Koshvanets. Recognized as one of the finest representatives of the Ukrainian piano school, she was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of Ukraine in 1996.
